OPEN-FRONTED NEST BOX

The open-fronted nest box is used by robins, wagtails and chats.  In nature these species build an open cup nest which is rarely higher than 1.5 - 2m above the ground.  Site amongst foliage.  The simple fixed panel design provides access for cleaning through the open front.

DIAMOND BIRDHOUSE

Sparrows and some finch varieties will enjoy this birdhouse.  A well known garden bird, the Cape sparrow generally nests at heights from 2m upwards.  Requires open space around the box.  The lift-off roof provides hassle-free cleaning.

TALL NEST BOX

This large nest box is designed to attract hoopoes, wood-hoopoes, starlings, tits and wrynecks.  If you live on the fringes of our wooded, rural regions you could invite the Pearl-spotted owl and Woodland kingfisher too!  These birds require a larger entrance hole and a nest cavity of around 300mm deep.  Natural tree hole nests generally range in height from 2 – 5m from the ground.  An open site is required.  Remove the 2 screws from the top of the box to clean inside.
